Massimo Pierini is an Italian eclectic and original composer born in Lucca, the city that gave birth to great artists such as Luigi Boccherini, Francesco Barsanti, Francesco Geminiani and Giacomo Puccini.
An all-round lover of music, he tried his hand at musical composition, not with the worldly intent of achieving fame and success but as a vocation, trying to give voice to a rich and varied inner world.

Today an artist of experience definitely worth knowing.
The first compositions in classical style date back to 1989. But before that, starting from 1985 he had composed the images "Images of a futurible present" composed of short and evocative musical paintings with a very original style.
Massimo Pierini's music is tonal, enjoyable but never predictable, it often shuns frills and focuses on the essential, it has a coherent development but also changes in mood and direction that can sometimes surprise with a playful or humorous character such as the scherzo or divertimento.
The search for essentiality is also outlined by the brevity of his works, made up of thematic statements and very sober elaborations, without unnecessary watering down and lengthyness: a concentration of emotions, as if the author intended to avoid his own boredom and that of the listener. Despite this brevity in form, the compositions are often multithematic, so much so that the richness of ideas almost constitutes a distinctive feature of this highly inventive composer.
Massimo Pierini's music focuses on the message of a creativity free from constraints but endowed with philosophical depth.
It is a completely postmodern music in which Bachian and Mozart influences emerge. But the terseness of the compositions rather refers to the brevity of some
typical forms of romanticism. In fact, frequent are the improvviso often with hints of fugue, the small sonatas for two instruments, the meditations, and pieces with a contemplative character similar to nocturnes or barcarole.
Despite being a guitarist Massimo Pierini composed little for the guitar: most of his classical compositions focus on the piano and particularly beloved instruments such as the viola.
